William H. Teale

Dr. William H. Teale was a professor in the Literacy, Language, and Culture Program at the University of Illinois, Chicago. He was a University Scholar and the director of the UIC Center for Literacy. He taught courses on early literacy, and children’s and young adult literature at the master’s and doctoral levels. He was the author of more than 150 publications. Dr. Teale was a member of the Reading Hall of Fame and the president of the International Literacy Association for 2016 and 2017.
